On this beautiful Memorial Day we remember all the brave people who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. One of those brave people that we are celebrating today is former University of Michigan athlete, Elmer Gedeon. Gedeon was a three sport star at Michigan before moving on to MLB. Gedeon was killed in action in 1944, during World War II.
Gedeon attended Michigan from 1935-39 and lettered in baseball, football, and track and field. His best sport was track and field where he was a multiple time Big Ten Champion in a couple different hurdle events.
