With six wins and a No. 7 ranking next to its name, Michigan football enters its bye week with positivity oozing from the walls of Schembechler Hall. The Wolverines have defied preseason expectations and positioned themselves well to contend for the Big Ten title.
The break in the schedule comes at a good time for coach Jim Harbaugh's club. For the first time since losing wide receiver Ronnie Bell in the season opener, Michigan began to experience some injury problems before and during Saturday's win over Nebraska. Wideout Roman Wilson didn’t travel with the team after suffering an undisclosed injury against Wisconsin, while starting offensive lineman Zak Zinter (leg) and Trevor Keegan (shoulder) both dropped out against the Cornhuskers.
