Rome — Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh did as the Roman tourists do and stood backwards as he tossed two coins into the Trevi Fountain.
What did he wish for?
“A championship,” Harbaugh said, smiling broadly Monday morning. “The highest one.”
The fountain, which he described as the most beautiful he has ever seen, is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and is one of the most famous in the world.
There are different sayings for tossing coins. Some say the first guarantees your return to Rome and the second is your wish.
