Ann Arbor — Spike Albrecht hasn’t had one discussion with Michigan coach John Beilein about his future basketball plans, despite a report that he is considering redshirting and potentially playing somewhere other than Michigan next season.
Spike’s father, Chuck Albrecht, told The News on Tuesday morning that he and Spike don’t think it’s fair to his teammates or coaches to have these discussions with Beilein right now, given the team’s in-season, with Big Ten play getting under way Dec. 30 at Illinois.
Albrecht announced Dec. 11 that his Michigan career was over, after it became too painful and difficult to keep playing following two hip surgeries this spring.
