From the start of the season De'Veon Smith has been listed and named as the starting tailback.
Despite other players getting more carries and having more production, his top spot hasn't changed.
"As of now, yeah," U-M running backs coach Tyrone Wheatley said today at Schembechler Hall's Towsley Museum. "He's the guy who's going to crack the cement. He'll be that guy."
Smith has 53 carries this season for 206 yards, compared to 18 for 161 yards for Ty Isaac, 13 for 46 for Derrick Green and six for 31 for Drake Johnson. But the others are impressing as well.
