U-M's Hurst expected to play a lot with Mone likely out

D.J. Durkin wasn’t budging.

The first question Michigan’s defensive coordinator faced Monday after 21/2 weeks in the Michigan bunker from the media: What’s the status of defensive tackle Bryan Mone?

“Bryan is a great kid, a great player for us,” Durkin said. “We really like him.”

By all accounts except those from Michigan itself, Mone suffered a season-ending lower leg injury early in camp. He hasn’t appeared since.

So without him and his 330-pound frame at nose tackle, there’s a shuffling process.

Mone was expected to rotate with Ryan Glasgow because it’s rare one player can handle the majority of those snaps.
