U-M trying to get young backup CBs ready to play

Michigan senior cornerbacks already have suffered two significant injuries this season. All-America Jourdan Lewis missed the first three games with back and core injuries and, just when he returned, Jeremy Clark was lost for the season with an ACL tear.

Those injuries have U-M cornerbacks coach Mike Zordich hoping to get the backups some live experience -- soon.

Junior Brandon Watson currently is rotating in as the third corner. But he’s also working behind Jabrill Peppers at strongside linebacker.

The players Zordich really wants to develop are the freshmen, LaVert Hill and David Long Jr.
