Freep writer Mark Snyder breaks down Michigan's loss to Purdue; Video by Mark Snyder/DFP
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Searching for a positive late Thursday night, Michigan coach John Beilein focused on what he could.
“I like the way we competed for that first 34 minutes,” Beilein said deep inside Purdue’s Mackey Arena. “I think we really competed against a really good team.”
The problem, like in many games against bigger, tougher ranked opponents this year, was that the game lasts 40.
With just over five minutes to play, Michigan trailed Purdue, 66-60, despite some porous defense.
