U-M names Partridge linebackers, special teams coach

A month ago, Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh said he would do anything he could to keep Chris Partridge on his staff.

Today, he proved it.

With an open assistant spot following the departure of special teams coach John Baxter, Partridge got that permanent job, adding to his linebackers duties. He had assumed the linebackers role on an interim basis during the Citrus Bowl prep, replacing departed defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin.

"Chris has a proven track record as a successful coach," Harbaugh said in a statement. "He has brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm to his work as our director of player personnel.
