U-M lost the football game, but it did beat Ohio State in a blood drive

ANN ARBOR, MI - Despite coming up just short against the Buckeyes in The Game on Saturday, Nov. 26, the University of Michigan was able to edge its arch-rival in the annual blood drive called Blood Battle.

U-M collected eight more donations of blood during the month-long battle to collect its 20th victory in the 35th annual battle with 2,363 donations, while Ohio State received 2,355 donations. The victory for U-M was its first in three years, after OSU had won the previous two battles.

Michigan took back the American Red Cross traveling trophy, with the results announced during halftime of the annual clash between U-M and OSU on Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.
