U-M down a second commit today: TE Dunaway

Michigan football has lost another verbal commitment, this one from the 2017 recruiting class.

Birmingham Brother Rice tight end Carter Dunaway, whose father, Craig, played at Michigan and whose older brother Jack is a current walk-on linebacker, announced on Twitter that he's re-opening his recruitment.

Dunaway wrote: "After a discussion with Coach (Jim) Harbaugh, it is in my best interests to pursue my athletic career elsewhere."

While it is the second decommitment announced today, as 2018 linebacker Antwuan Johnson departed earlier, this one was phrased differently.

Dunaway was a longtime commitment -- dating to April 2015 -- who did not have the same lofty profile as many others in the 2017 class.
