U-M announced reduced capacity for Michigan Stadium

While Michigan Stadium will remain the largest on-campus venue to see college football, the overall seating capacity will be coming down by just over 2,000 seats starting this fall. The athletic department released a statement on Friday announcing that the new official capacity will be 107,601.

That probably wouldn’t have been a problem last year, but intense interest from fans over Jim Harbaugh’s return to Ann Arbor as head coach has sparked a high demand for tickets this season with the Wolverines coming close to selling out every game a month before the first kickoff.
