ANN ARBOR -- Michigan wasted little Saturday hitting the ground running, and it turned to Ty Isaac first.
The senior running back took the first six carries in the Wolverines' 36-14 win over Cincinnati before rushing to a career-high 133 yards.
Isaac did it on 20 carries, the most on the team, supplanting sophomore Chris Evans as Michigan's new No. 1 running back.
"Coach Jay (Harbaugh) told me last night in the hotel," Isaac said of being named starter. "As far as a role, I didn't really know just because I know much we rotate.
