Salt Lake City — Finally, after eight months of near-constant hype and headlines, Jim Harbaugh took the sideline as Michigan’s head coach.
No one had sugar-coated how difficult it would be to open the season at Utah, even with Harbaugh at the helm and his NFL-caliber staff. The Utes, who entered the game as favorites but took an underdog approach while the Harbaugh hype-machine churned, displayed a proven defensive line and a veteran offensive line protecting a veteran quarterback, Travis Wilson.
In the end, though, turnovers — which plagued the Wolverines the last two seasons, particularly last year — proved the difference.
