With Michigan trailing Indiana 31-14 at the start of the fourth quarter, they had to score quick if they had any hopes of mounting a comeback. The sense of urgency that was lacking late in the game against Michigan State looked to be improved upon.
Michigan had a 6 play, 64-yard drive that ended with a 21-yard Ronnie Bell touchdown reception. The drive took only 2:01 off the clock, and Michigan trailed 31-21 with 13:43 to go.
