West Bloomfield offensive lineman Amir Herring announced his commitment to Michigan on Thursday night. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Herring now brings the 2023 Michigan class to nine members.
Herring chose Michigan after taking official visits with the Wolverines, Nebraska, Boston College, and Missouri. He also had offers from Penn State, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Purdue, West Virginia and more.
A starter since his freshman year at West Bloomfield, Herring plays tackle, but Michigan’s plan for him will be inside, either at guard or center. He credits offensive line coach Sherrone Moore’s quick success at the position as well as the academics at Michigan as reasons for his choice.
