In the span of just over a week, Michigan has grown its 2017 class to 11 members with the addition of five new commitments: running backs A.J. Dillon and O’Maury Samuels, fullback Chase Lasater, defensive tackle Phil Paea and safety J’Marick Woods.
Samuels and Paea both committed in the days following Friday night’s spring game, a weekend that should produce more results than just those two additions.
One of the most positive reactions has come from defensive tackle Deontre Thomas, a 6-foot-3, 275-pound prospect from Mustang (Okla.) who has risen fast in the last two months, going from no offers to 13 in that period.
