Michigan’s football staff is spending their bye week preparing for Michigan State, but it is also an opportunity to get on the road or phone and further recruiting efforts.
The Wolverines have done that.
Defensive line coach Mike Elston spent time in Chicago.
He offered Wisconsin commit Roderick Pierce, a senior defensive tackle at Chicago Brother Rice. Following the offer, Pierce says he will take a look at Michigan and is likely to schedule a visit. He has maintained that he would stay verbally committed to the Wisconsin Badgers, even with Paul Chryst no longer the head coach, but the Wolverines now have complicated matters for him.
