Michigan point guard target Joe Girard discusses where the Wolverines sit in his recruitment at the Fab 48 in Las Vegas. Matthew Bain, Sports writer
LAS VEGAS — When Joe Girard was in seventh grade, John Beilein told him they couldn't talk to each other anymore. For a while, at least.
Michigan’s basketball coach saw early signs of a high-major Division I player in Girard, and he didn’t want to commit any recruiting violations if he decided to eventually pursue the kid who’d known him his whole life.
“He does everything by the book,” Girard told the Free Press.
