Defensive back Charles Woodson (1995-97) was Michigan’s only first-team honoree, with safety Dave Brown (1971-74) and wide receiver Anthony Carter (1979-82) both represented the Maize and Blue on the third team.
Woodson won the Heisman Trophy during Michigan’s 1997 National Championship run, becoming the first predominately defensive player to earn that recognition.
Brown was a two-time All-American and three-time All-Big Ten performer, starting 34 games and racking up 212 tackles.
