Three Michigan basketball players — two former players on the men’s team and a 2024 commit to the women’s team — will be representing their respective countries in the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris, France later this month.
Syla Swords was named to Team Canada’s roster, becoming the second Michigan women’s basketball player to play in the Olympics, with the first being Krista Phillips, who played for Team Canada in 2012. At just 18 years old, Swords is the youngest woman to ever play for Team Canada at the Olympic Games.
