The Wildcats underwent a tornado of an offseason, firing their all-time winningest coach, Pat Fitzgerald, after a hazing scandal came to light. Northwestern decided to stay in-house with its next head football coach, hiring David Braun, the team’s defensive coordinator. Braun inherited a team that went 1-11 the previous season, and he lost 11 players to decommitments or the portal.
