ANN ARBOR -- Soon after Don Brown was hired as defensive coordinator in December, Michigan players pulled some film on Boston College from last season. They wanted to see what the old man from BC was bringing to Ann Arbor.
First, they noticed the blitzes. Lots of 'em. BC players flying from all directions. The Michigan meeting room started buzzing with excitement.
Jeremy Clark and his fellow members of the secondary, meanwhile, watched the rest of the field. They saw Boston College cornerbacks in man-to-man coverage. The saw lots of green in the BC secondary.
"We were like, dang, we're not going to have any help this year," Clark said Tuesday.
