After wrapping up last season in excruciating pain, Michigan point guard Spike Albrecht elected to have a pair of off-season hip surgeries to fix the problems that had been plaguing him, knowing the recovery process would stretch into the next year. On Friday morning though, the senior revealed that he has not made the strides he anticipated and will bring his playing career to a close.
“This has been the toughest decision I have ever had to make,” said Albrecht. “After taking a hard look at what is best for me, and this team, I will be stepping away from the game that has meant so much to me.
