Ann Arbor — Never has a play in a Michigan football regular season game meant so much to the baseball team, but there the players were, gathered in their locker room on campus at Ray Fisher Stadium watching the Wolverines at Wisconsin last October.
They were especially riveted when the Badgers fumbled a punt return close to their end zone in the second quarter, and a Michigan player, unidentified at that point and under a pile, recovered it. But who made the play? For the baseball team, this was personal.
