NEW YORK – Derrick Walton Jr. was trapped at his locker.
Michigan’s season had just ended with a 70-63 loss to Notre Dame in the NCAA tournament’s first round, and he was still thinking about what could have been this season.
“I don’t say it was a success, because I know with a couple stops in this game, we wouldn’t be having this talk,” Walton said. “It definitely was a disappointment. But we’ll never know how special this group could have been. In my mind, it could have been one of the best.
“You never know what could have been.
