Sitting out 2014 offers Isaac new perspective

For the first time in his life, Ty Isaac was confined to the bench while healthy.

All of last season, he had to wait due to NCAA transfer rules, having come to Michigan from USC to be closer to his sick mother in Joliet, Ill.

So the challenge was to stay engaged in the game, watching other people play running back.

“Obviously, that was not fun, but I have a different perspective on a few things,” he said last week before U-M started camp. “The way that I would approach preparation and how I want to approach the game and what I want to do with my game.
