The Michigan Wolverines were elite at closing out games the last couple years, especially during their national championship season in 2023. This year, however, is a completely different story so far.
Against Arkansas State in Week 3, Michigan was up 21-3 at halftime and ended up winning the game, 28-18, giving up 15 points in the fourth quarter. One week later against USC, the Wolverines were leading 14-3 at the end of the first half and managed to squeak out a 27-24 win. On Saturday against Minnesota, the Wolverines had a commanding 21-3 lead at the break — and even had a 24-3 lead at one point — and only won the game by a score of 27-24, giving up 21 points in the fourth quarter.
