NEW YORK – At least Michigan could say it lasted in the NCAA tournament a little longer than Michigan State.
About eight hours longer.
But the magic that lifted the overall underachieving Wolverines a little higher than expected just 10 days ago dissipated with their shooting touch and defensive intensity. The physical toll of a fifth game in nine days with minimal depth on the bench leaden their legs.
