Shane Morris feels like he’s been a part of the Michigan program for seven years. After all, he committed as a sophomore.

But the hard-throwing left-hander, who had high hopes coming out of Warren De La Salle of becoming the Wolverines’ starting quarterback, has decided to move on and play his fifth year elsewhere as a graduate transfer.

Morris made the announcement Monday on Twitter.

“It’s bittersweet,” Morris told The Detroit News on Monday. “I love Michigan. I’m sad to go but excited for a new beginning.”

He said he has not yet visited or interviewed with other programs, where he would be eligible to start immediately.
