Several Michigan defenders receive Big Ten honors

The Big Ten announced its defensive all-conference members on Monday evening and several Wolverines received recognition. Among those granted the most honors was Michigan’s do-everything star Jabrill Peppers, who was named the Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year.

Peppers, who had 10 pass breakups in the secondary, was also named first-team All-Big Ten by both the media and coaches as a defensive back. He was named the second-team return specialist from the conference coaches.

Junior cornerback Jourdan Lewis was also named first-team All-Big Ten in both listings after setting a Michigan record 19 pass breakups this fall.
