Seidel: Michigan quarterback Brandon Peters didn't have to be great

Detroit Free Press staff

Free Press columnist Jeff Seidel answers three questions after Michigan's dominating 33-10 victory over Minnesota on Saturday night at Michigan Stadium:

How did Brandon Peters do in his first start at quarterback?
Peters wasn’t great. But he didn’t have to be.
Michigan started running the ball and kept running it when Minnesota couldn’t stop the Wolverines.
There was absolutely no reason to pass, not when you can dominate on the ground like that.
But Peters showed he can be an effective game manager, taking the open passes, not risking turnovers.
