ANN ARBOR -- For the second time this week, a Michigan basketball player has announced his intention to transfer. On Thursday night, sophomore Ibi Watson wrote on Twitter that he has "decided to explore other options."
Brent Hibbitts, a walk-on, announced on Tuesday that he'd be leaving the program. Head coach John Beilein had said Wednesday, before the team banquet, that he was in the process of meeting with every player on the roster and that further attrition was possible. "We hope it never happens but I'm not naive enough to think it couldn't happen."
A couple of hours later, Beilein stood on a makeshift stage inside Crisler Center and spoke glowingly of his sophomore class.
