IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Michigan men's basketball lost on the road, 82-71, to the Iowa Hawkeyes (No. 16 AP, No. 19 Coaches) on Sunday evening (Jan. 17) at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Michigan fell victim to two double-digit Iowa scoring runs, one in each half, which proved too much to overcome in the end.
The Wolverines had a 52-51 advantage with 12 minutes to play in the second half after sophomore guard Aubrey Dawkins knocked down a three-pointer, but the Hawkeyes put together a 12-0 scoring run to make it 63-52 with 8:55 remaining.
