Sierra Romero and Mason Ferlic are Michigan's Athletes of the Year, the school announced Wednesday.
Romero, who helped lead the Michigan softball team to three World Series appearances in her four seasons and recently was named the National Player of the Year, is a back-to-back winner of the U-M award, and Ferlic, a three-season athlete (cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field), was a two-year captain of the men's cross country and track and field teams.
Ferlic led Michigan to a Big Ten title in cross country and last week won the 3,000-meter steeplechase national title at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
