Reports: U-M lands 2016 PG Xavier Simpson

The recruiting roller-coaster rolls on.

Just hours after 2016 U-D Jesuit point guard Cassius Winston dropped Michigan from his final group of schools, the Wolverines landed its 2016 point guard in Lima (Ohio) Senior Xavier Simpson.

Multiple reports from reporters in attendance at the announcement reported his decision.

The 5-foot-11 guard was considering Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa State among others and had just visited Wisconsin this past weekend. He has mentioned U-M in the past but not recently at least until reports flooded out earlier this afternoon about his change of heart.

Whether the end of the Winston pursuit changed things for the Wolverines or U-M pushed is not clear.
