As first reported by ESPN, rising senior defensive lineman Ondre Pipkins — who recorded nine tackles in four games last season — will leave the Michigan football team and seek a transfer elsewhere.
The decision comes after the Wolverines’ coaching staff allegedly asked him 10 times over a two-month period to consider signing a medical scholarship form that would have ended his playing career.
“I feel I'm healthy and ready to play,” said Pipkins, who played last season after returning from a torn knee ligament. “I don't want to sign the form. I wanted to play for my seniors and for the team.
