Multiple reports say former Kentucky guard Charles Matthews will transfer to play for John Beilein. Per NCAA transfer rules, Matthews will have to spend the 2016-17 season on the bench, but will have three years of eligibility remaining afterward.
ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Goodman tweeted out the news Monday evening: "Kentucky transfer Charles Matthews is headed to Michigan, source told ESPN."
It’s a similar situation Michigan went through with Duncan Robinson, who has two years of eligibility remaining after transferring from Division III Williams College.
