The Wolverines suffered significant levels of attrition following the season, bidding farewell to Aubrey Dawkins, Ricky Doyle, Kameron Chatman and Spike Albrecht, who all transferred. News hit on Monday though that one of the two open scholarship will be filled by a move into the program from Kentucky shooting guard Charles Matthews.
Kentucky transfer Charles Matthews is headed to Michigan, source told ESPN.
A 6-6, 189-pounder out of Chicago (Ill.) Saint Rita, Matthews saw action in 36 games in his freshman season, averaging 1.7 points and 1.6 rebounds per outing.
A four-star recruit in the 2015 class, he will be forced to sit out a season due to NCAA transfer rules, then have three years of eligibility remaining.
