Report: Ex-Florida coach Jim McElwain joins Michigan

Former Florida head coach Jim McElwain has joined Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s staff as receivers coach and will also be involved coordinating the offense, ESPN.com reported Saturday night.

McElwain told ESPN senior writer Chris Low he will begin work Sunday.

“I’m excited to get back into it and am looking forward to going in there and learning and helping Michigan get better,” McElwain told the website.

McElwain is Michigan’s 10th assistant and replaces Dan Enos, who had been offensive coordinator at Arkansas the previous three years and was briefly on staff at Michigan as receivers coach before leaving last month to become quarterbacks coach at Alabama.
