In the spring, Michigan nose guard Bryan Mone talked about his dreams of starting this season Sept. 3 in Utah, his home state.
The Wolverines still will be there, but the Salt Lake City native apparently will not.
According to a scout.com reporter from Utah, U-M's giant sophomore suffered a broken ankle in practice and will miss a significant period of time, if not the entire season.
A U-M spokesman refused to comment, referring to coach Jim Harbaugh's statement last week that he would be focused on practice and not speaking to the media. Michigan has not been providing practice updates from fall camp, which started last Friday.
