Michigan basketball has already lost one assistant this off-season.
Another one may be on the way out.
The Chicago Tribune reported Northwestern is trying to hire U-M assistant Billy Donlon to fill its staff vacancy.
Donlon grew up in the Chicago suburb of Northbrook and his father was an assistant coach at Northwestern in 1987-94.
He and Northwestern coach Chris Collins have been close friends for many years, as documented in a Chicago Tribune story in March.
Donlon came to Michigan in the spring of 2016 after getting fired as Wright State's head coach.
