While the first depth chart of the year listed both Jake Rudock and Shane Morris as options for the top spot at quarterback, Jim Harbaugh admitted after the opening game that Rudock had separated himself in fall camp some time before the final week of preparations. The story took a bit of an interesting twist though in game two, with Wilton Speight entering the contest to down the ball with a big lead late.
“Shane’s the No. 2 quarterback,” Harbaugh clarified after the game on Saturday. “There was a kneel down situation at the end and I’m not going to play Shane in that position, because he’s in his junior year.
