Just a few 2016 Michigan football commits remain standing in their seasons, and quarterback Brandon Peters has his team surging.
Avon (Ind.) High School knocked off its second straight defending state champion on Friday, a 37-34 win over Cathedral, behind 236 yards and three touchdown passes.
Two of those scores came in overtime, where Avon notched the win, the school's first regional title since 2005, according to the Indianapolis Star.
The game-winning score came on a 10-yard pass to receiver Andrew Griffin.
"I was thinking I needed to go score for my team," said Peters, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound four-star quarterback.
