Recruiting mailbag: Rocket Watts to Michigan, MSU or leaving state?

Free Press special writer Sean Merriman dishes on Michigan and Michigan State football and basketball recruiting in his latest mailbag:

As you evaluate the current freshmen for Michigan and Michigan State basketball, how would you say the two stack up against one another? — Spartan in Columbus

I think both U-M and MSU signed solid recruiting classes in 2018, and while neither class possesses that elite 5-star prospect, I do believe both programs will see these freshmen make an early, immediate impact.

For Michigan, I think it's fair to say that Brandon Johns, David DeJulius and Ignas Brazdeikis will all be in the regular playing rotation, and it's possible we could see one of those forwards starting by the end of the season.
