Recap, takeaways from Michigan Basketball’s regular season finale loss at Maryland

The Michigan Wolverines fell to 19-12 to end the 2019-20 regular season on Sunday in a road loss at Maryland by a score of 83-70. They have clinched the nine seed in the Big Ten Tournament and will play on Thursday at noon in Indianapolis against Rutgers. The victory helped Maryland claim a share of the Big Ten title, its first since joining the conference in 2014-15.

Freshman forward Franz Wagner led the team in scoring with 15 points. Zavier Simpson had 13 points and six assists. Anthony Cowan, Jalen Smith and Eric Ayala were too much to overcome combining for 57 of Maryland’s points on Sunday afternoon in College Park.
