Recap: Michigan beats Purdue to win second straight Big Ten tournament title

Michigan avenged a pair of regular-season losses to Purdue on Sunday, and in the process, captured its second straight Big Ten tournament championship.

The Wolverines got 17 points from Mo Wagner and a huge game from his backup, Jon Teske, who scored 14 in a 75-66 victory for Michigan at Madison Square Garden. Muhammad-Ali Abdur Rahkman added 15 points for the Wolverines while Zavier Simpson scored 10 and had five assists.

Michigan (28-7) becomes just the third team in conference history to win the tournament in back-to-back seasons, joining Michigan State (1999-2000) and Ohio State (2010-11).

The Wolverines now away Selectin Sunday a week from now to see how much the run in New York – which included wins over Iowa, Nebraska and Michigan State – will help their NCAA Tournament resume.
