The Michigan Wolverines pulled off the upset over the No. 11 USC Trojans at the Big House on Saturday afternoon. Sherrone Moore earned his first Big Ten win as head coach of the Wolverines, while subsequently handing Lincoln Riley and USC their first Big Ten loss as members of the conference.
Even though new starting quarterback Alex Orji only threw for 32 yards on 7-of-12 passing, Kalel Mullings ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns — including the game-winner with less than a minute to go — and Will Johnson returned an interception for a touchdown, his second of the season and third total as a Wolverine, a new program record.
