Jeff George Jr., briefly a member of Michigan’s quarterbacks room, has decided to move on.
George Jr., the son of former NFL quarterback Jeff George, has decided to transfer and pursue graduate school elsewhere, Michigan football spokesman Dave Ablauf confirmed Saturday.
Michigan opens the season next Saturday at Notre Dame and Shea Patterson will be the starting quarterback.
George had announced in January his decision to leave Illinois and in June transferred to Michigan. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder plans to transfer to Pitt, The Wolverine Lounge reporter Friday night.
He played in 11 games the last two seasons with the Illini and made nine starts.
