Shea Patterson's first game at Michigan didn't go as planned. The Wolverines came out flat and the starting quarterback turned the ball over twice.
But Michigan also had a chance to tie the game late before losing, 24-17, at Notre Dame.
That result -- and its 49-3 bounce-back win over Western Michigan -- has Patterson cautioning overzealous fans already writing Michigan's death notice.
"I think people just need to relax a little bit," Patterson told WXYT-FM (97.1) in Detroit. "It was our first game and we lost by a touchdown, at Notre Dame and against a very good team.
